Flies for all sorts

I thought id share some pictures of some successfull flies i use for fishing here in switzerland. I dont really fly fish often here anymore as there is not so many nice trout about and when i do go for them i use lures because you dont need much space for casting and much quicker to use. The time i really like fly fishing here is around end of october through november for grayling. I think its the only way to catch them, on a float just doesnt do it for me.

The first four pictures are pike flies not too big but too big for trout and perch
easy ties and look good in the water and catch fish.

The next 6 pics are good catchers for perch and trout

The next 2 are my version of a easy bullhead/sculpin pattern easy to tie and catches fish.

The next 4 have been a very good dry fly for grayling, chub, trout and roach a fairly easy tie and very bouyant. The deer hair and cdc keeps it floating well and no need for floatant.

Now for some wet flies/nymphs. Not much to say about them apart from they have all worked for perch, chub, grayling, roach and trout.

A Morning out on the boat

Today i took my oldest daughter out on the boat fishing with me. For some reason when she comes fishing with me i catch. Today wasnt any different, I wanted to test out some new lures I had made but ended up catching the most pike i had in a day in switzerland. In the end I had 4 in the boat and a couple lost. Pretty good for a lure test. I only managed to photograph one as i always forget to take pics. Anyways heres the pics...

Its typical the only one i remembered to take a pic of was a tiddler but it had nice markings. The biggest i had was around 70 cm and approx 3 or 4lb..

Some more finnish saddle lip trolling goodness

Not alot i can say about these apart from i really like the action and you can troll them pretty quick without them blowing out. Two are made with real shell veneer, its very hard to show in the pictures how cool this stuff looks.

Also while i was testing them out i took some footage. Unfortunatly i wasnt on the boat so i couldnt troll them faster so you could see how erratic the hunting action gets. Maybe next time.......

Some large crankbaits for summer

Been working on some large crankbaits for summer pike and wels..
These first 2 are 12.5cm long and 70gramms.

These 2 are 18cm long and weigh 110grams. Armed with 2 3/0 trebles and a very loud rattle.

Some new bits ive been working on

I havent had much time for fishing recently so the time i had ive been finishing stuff. Im really enjoying the finnish styled lures at the moment, They are bloody difficult to paint with a cheap airbrush. Heres some pics..

Heres a jointed jerkbait i made, It didnt work like a jerkbait more like swimbait. Im sure it will catch anyway.

I repainted a rapala deep tail dancer as well, It was pretty smashed up but it think it looks alright now..
Lastly a new colour for one of my older models. I think its the nicest i have done so far, Also there is a smaller version i made to test how it goes..

Gonna try do a video when i get time showing how some of the lures swim.
