Recently I have been trying to get ready for the start of the coming trout season. I have been making all sorts of different sizes and shapes to tempt the brownies. I just finished up a load of 3.5cm crankbaits that i think will be popular with me this year. Im really getting into ultra light fishing its great fun and i think ill catch more than trout with these, im pretty sure chub and perch will love them as well as the occasional big roach/rudd. The paint jobs could be much better but i was really struggling with painting something so small but i think after some tries it will come. Anyway the fish wont mind(its only us the really care about that). Anyways here are some pictures, some are with a traditional style diving lip and some with a finnish step lip so they have different wiggles.
Here is a video showing how they swim.
I also brought some popper blanks to spray up and try as i dont really have enough topwater baits and it is such a fun way to fish. I kept the colours pretty standard natural for where i am but they came out really good( i think ).
I was thinking the other day about using one of my pike fly patterns as a trailer on large spinner so made one up and it turned out pretty good. So i made up a large batch, Theres not much to say about them apart from i think they look good and im sure the fish will too. They weigh around 25 gramms so you can cast them out a fair distance too...
I made 3 as well with a big offset hook on the back that you can add a soft plastic lure or a smaller dead bait. I added a grub style soft lure and rigged it weedless.
Here is a very short clip showing it off, Thanks for reading and tight lines..
I thought my last post would be my last of this year but someone contacted me for some of my 5cm crankbaits and of course couldnt resist doing some more stuff as well. Not too much to say about them apart from i really like the colours and think the fish will as well.....
Next is 2 more finnish trolling lures i finnished. The white one is using a irridescent film and looks really nice. Lets see what you think.
Its very hard to show the colours in the film but its very lively. I also painted a few more manns blanks which im happy with and hope the pike will like them too.
Here is a jerkbait i tried with a new foil.
Lastly i tried a glow in the dark tape on a crank bait hopefully it will catch..
I also made a test video of my recent 5cm lure here it is...
Thanks for reading have a good xmas and tight lines
